1. Start Early
This isn’t the kind of thing you want to leave until the last minute. Begin your application through the Student’s Pass Online Application and Registration (SOLAR) portal. Schools in Singapore would register your details with SOLAR first, so keep an eye on your email for your unique application number.
Here’s the timeline you need to follow:
- Apply at least two months or as soon as possible before your course starts.
- Don’t apply more than three months in advance.
Quick Tip: Complete your application while you’re still in your home country! You can’t extend an entry pass if your application for the student visa is still pending after you’ve entered Singapore.
2. Complete the eForm 16 Carefully
Once you have your application number, log in to the SOLAR portal and fill out the eForm 16. Be vigilant when providing the following information:
- Your full name and nationality (as per your passport).
- Your course details, including start and end dates.
- Details of your parents or guardians.
